Scholarship!

So I just got home from my grandma today and got on the computer to check my email. I've gotten a notice earlier this week that I was gonna be hearing from my school's financial aid about how much money I will get for the a certain scholarship. I opened my email and saw the email and title from my study abroad advisor. The title contained the name of the scholarship that I applied for and once I saw it my heart started to beat faster, and faster, and faster, and harder, and harder, and harder. I slow moved my mouse to it and clicked open the email. I read that email so slow because I did not want to rush it and be played that it was the email I was looking for, or that I didn't get enough scholarship money. As I read through the first line, there it was! The amount of money I would get for my scholarship! I read the number...$....9,163.... At that moment, I almost had a minor heart attack and almost cried from over-joyness. I didn't know what to do. I was just shocked. I gathered my self back up and ran straight upstairs to my mom's room and was like "MOM! OMG MOM!" She was like "what? what happened" with a scared voice, afraid that something terrible happened. I opened the door and was like..."Mom...I got $9,163! For scholarship money!" My mom's eyes gotten so big at that moment and she literally jumped out of bed and we went downstairs to look at the email. She read it and I just hugged my mom out of joyness. We were so happy because if we did not get that scholarship, we would be paying a lot out of our pockets. Today....it must have been the happiest day of my life. Not much happened earlier today, but the ending of the day was just so...I don't know how to say it...it was so exciting...so joyful...so looking good for my trip to Japan. I texted my two brothers about the news and they were so happy for me! They know that my mom would have been paying a lot for my tuition. One of my brothers even said he was proud of me! That made me even happier than I already was. To the bottom of this post is the screenshot I took of the email. Today was a wonderful day!

Independence Day/ Fourt of July/ July 4thh

This year's Fourth of July is surely a memorable one. I don't even know where to begin... I guess I'll just start from the beginning of the day. So, I woke up at 8:12 a.m. then went to go take a shower....lol just kidding guys and gals. If i told yal every single detail yal would probably get bored and not read this post. Alright so lets really begin. My friend Anthony decided that he wanted to go to Blue Bayou, which is a waterpark, about an hour away near Baton Rouge. He invited me and two others. So in total it was five people, Anthony, his gf, our friend peter and his gf, and me...as the fifth wheel...yeah sad I know but idc it was fun =D Oh yeah did i mention, Anthony's gf is a Japanese foreign exchange student! She has been helping me a bit by answering some of my questions and helping me with Japanese, even though I haven't been studying on my Japanese since the semester ended. Ok, back to the subject. We all decided to meet up at Anthony's house and leave from there. He was the one that drove. When we got there, it was surprisingly not that crowded. I guess a lot of people stayed home and bar-b-qued. You know what that means, less time for us to wait in line! Yay! We went on almost every single ride and was able to finish in 3 hours, which was really short, but still fun. However, Blue Bayou was not what made my Fourth of July a memorable experience. What happened later that night is what I can say as the newest and best way I had ever experienced New Orleans. After we came back from Blue Bayou, everyone decided to go home and take a rest and meet back up again at 7:30 p.m. I invited two other friends from work, Nick and Dang, to tag along too. The more the merrier. It was the same group of people that went to Blue Bayou, except Anthony's little brother, Tony, came too. We met up at a firework stand that Tony's friend worked at and got some roman candles, water dynamites, bottle rockets, artillery shells, and other fireworks. Ok, so hear is where the fun began. Anthony and his little brother decided that we would go to this abandon warehouse down by the river on the other side of the bridge. And man was it dark and creepy. We all parked our cars just outside of the abandoned warehouse. We had to walk through some tall grass, bad idea for me to wear shorts. It was really itchy. Oh, did I mention? If we got caught by the cops we could have been arrested. Luckily we didn't. In order for us to get into the factory we had to sort of crawl under a hole in one of the gates. It was a good thing we brought flashlights because it was pretty dark. As we was walking through the factory, one of my boys, Nick, saw a spray can and decided to leave his tag mark. When we finally got into the interior of the factory, I was surprised at how worn down it was. There were holes in the floor, some of the places in the factory was flooded. Stairs were broken. Metal floors were missing. Anthony and Tony wanted to head up to the roof. It was a good thing Tony knew the way to get up there or we would have been lost. It was a pretty dangerous journey going up stairs and through different rooms. There was even this one hallway, that was really long and had like gaps between the walls. It looked like it could have been a scene from a horror movie. As we was making our way up, we also decided to pop some fireworks. We through water dynamites around, took artillery shells and checked it to the other side of the rooms to let it blow up, shot roman candles and bottle rockets. It was quite an exciting experience. So, we finally made it to the roof, and WOW was the sight just magnificent. We went to the side of the roof and we could see the firework show from the Riverwalk. It was an amazing sight. We started to do our own little firework show on top of the roof. Pretty much everything we did inside of the warehouse, we did outside on the roof too. Tony decided to climb up this really tall tower, even though he only went half way, and set off a firework. It was pretty nice. I bet that the people that saw the fireworks from the factory were probably like "what the ____." lol As we was shooting fireworks, two random British dudes just came out of nowhere. Apparently they were on the roof on the other side of the warehouse and saw us popping fireworks and decided to come over. It was pretty creepy how they just came out of nowhere. And the weird part is, they were able to go up through the factory with like no lights. They were pretty damn brave. After a while, we decided to travel back down and set off the rest of our fireworks. We tried to aim roman candles at lightbulbs to see who could hit it first. Nick was setting bottle rockets off to fly to the other side of the building. Anthony was put water dynamite next to people to scare the crap out of them. Tony and I were setting off our artillery shell all over the place. All you could hear the whole time was fireworks popping really loud. Its something that would make you jump if you didn't pay attention. We finally decided to leave after a little while, but we still had one more firework to set off. So we went to another room to look for a place that would be safe to set it off because this firework shot 9 times with explosions similar to artillery shells. We called this event our Finale. When we set it off, it was so spectacular. The firework would hit the roof and just explode and fly everywhere. A little dangerous, but the sight was just fantastic. In the end we came out the way we came in. The two British guys walked off somewhere and we got into our cars and drove home. To top it all off, Nick, Dang, and I decided to get some Taco Bell. July 4th was just a major adrenaline rush. This was the newest and best way I have ever experienced New Orleans. I am hoping that when I come back for New Years, we would do this once again. Except this time, we would save all our big fireworks for that Midnight strike. Sorry for making this post so long and detailed. I am still excited about how fun Fourth of July was. I hope yal enjoyed reading this post though.
